Terms of Service
Draft — this is a first version of our terms and is pending legal review. It is not final.
Last updated: this is a draft awaiting legal review, not a final version. 1. What Lead City Life is Lead City Life is a digital campus platform for Lead City University students: a marketplace, a student-services directory, a business directory, events and ticketing, campus publisher content, and messaging between users. It is provided by Lead City Life ("we", "us"). 2. Eligibility and accounts The platform is intended for Lead City University students, staff, and affiliated campus businesses/organizers. Some features (selling in the marketplace, listing a service, managing a business, organizing events, becoming a Course Representative) require submitting a verification request, which is reviewed by a moderator or the relevant department's Course Representative. You must provide accurate information when registering and when submitting a verification request — submitting false information, including a false department, may result in your verification being rejected or your account being suspended. 3. Marketplace, services, businesses, and events Buyers and sellers deal with each other directly; Lead City Life is a venue, not a party to those transactions, and does not guarantee the condition, legality, or delivery of any item or service listed. Event organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their event listings and for honoring valid tickets. Paid ticket sales carry a platform commission (currently 5% of the ticket price), deducted from the organizer's payout; see the ticket terms shown at checkout for the current rate and refund policy. Ticket sales are generally final and non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by its organizer. 4. Wallet The in-app wallet reflects a running ledger of credits and debits associated with your account. At this time there is no self-service way to fund your wallet from an external payment method — wallet credits are currently only added by an administrator. We will update these terms if and when a real funding/payment flow is introduced. 5. Messaging and conduct Messaging exists to support marketplace, service, and event transactions. You agree not to use messaging, listings, or any other part of the platform to harass, threaten, defraud, or spam other users, to post content that is illegal, obscene, or infringes someone else's rights, or to impersonate another person or organization. Reported content and accounts are reviewed by moderators, who may remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action they judge appropriate. 6. Content you post You retain ownership of content you post (listings, service descriptions, business/event details, publisher content, messages), but you grant Lead City Life a license to display, store, and process it as needed to operate the platform. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you post. 7. Moderation and enforcement We may review, remove, or restrict access to content or accounts that violate these terms, campus policy, or applicable law, with or without prior notice, at our reasonable discretion. 8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability The platform is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lead City Life is not liable for disputes between users, losses from marketplace/service transactions, or content posted by users. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Nigerian law. 9. Termination We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms. You may stop using the platform at any time; contact Support to request account deletion. 10. Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Lead City University, the platform's launch campus, is located in Ibadan, Oyo State. 11. Contact Questions about these terms can be sent through the in-app Support flow.
